Boss Lady: Jazzie from Jazzzie By Nature

I met Jazzie through Instagram the summer of 2015. I just so happened to be on a cruise to Mexico and received an IG message demanding I hurry and come back so we can be vegan friends. We’ve been friends ever since. She is now traveling the world with her husband and is a great inspiration to me. She just has this positive light and energy and coming from where she came from, you would never know. I can’t wait for us to hangout again! Let’s find out more about this Boss Lady.

Hey Jazzie! Thanks for joining this series. Tell the readers a little bit about you.
Hey girl heyyy!  Thanks for having me! I’m Jazzie, holistic health and wellness consultant & Black Digital Nomad. I’m orginally from South Central Los Angeles. Coming from a very unstable childhood I’ve been nomadic my whole life. My mom was on drugs and my father was abusive so I moved around a lot between family members. I left Los Angeles for Houston, TX two days after high school graduation. I then moved back and forth betweeen Philly & Houston until 2013. I left Houston for good in 2016.
How long have you lived a plant based lifestyle and how did you get started?

From 2007-2013 I suffered from a huge painful lump in my throat. After cat scans, MRIs & expensive medicines yet no cure, I opted out of invasive surgery and looked into more holistic ways of healing. I was watching an infomercial with David Wolf and he said something that really resonated with me. “We are overfed and under norished.” I ordered a Nutri-Bullet and began making smoothies. I followed the blog 100 Days of Real Food and cut out all processed foods. Within a couple weeks my lump was healed. I continued to educate myself and eventually gave up meat and dairy. I’ve been following a Plant-Based lifestyle ever since.

Why and how did you get into being a health consultant?

After healing myself and seeing so many others suffering I decided to get my certification as a Holistic Health & Wellness Consultant

What’s the purpose of your CKLS cleanse and how can people do it?

I know you’re now a digital nomad living it up in Bali. What made you and your husband sell everything and take to the world? What was that final straw?

Ha! Just look at the state of Amerikka! I was tired of worrying if my black husband was going to end up as a hashtag. We also wanted to be able to do what we love and live comfortably versus working a job we hate just to pay bills. Living abroad made this possible.

What is the greatest thing you learned about being a nomad in Mexico? Bali?
That we posses everything we need within.
Where to next?
We are headed to Malaysia then Thailand.
What’s your ultimate goal with your business?
To become a world renowned speaker, empowering others to kill their inner hater bish and live their best life.
Now the best part, tell me about how you got connected with the Black Digital Nomad? What’s that experience been like? What’s the future look like with that?

I met Melanie in Playa del Carmen, MX. (Thanks for that!) (A little back story, while Jazzie was in Mexico, I saw that Melanie was there also and suggested Jazzie get together with her) After deciding to work non-remotely we worked out a private agreement & here I am.

It’s been a lovely experience and I’m honored to be able to continue the brand and inspire others. I’m working on a few courses to help others take the leap.
When you and your husband do finally settle down, where will it be?
Only time will tell.
What’s the best part about being a minimalist and living the nomadic life in general?

The best part is the freedom! Working everyday on the things I love and not being tied down by stuff.

Where can people find you?
I’m @blackdigitalnomad &
